pushed for serious defense training for flight attendants. What congress gave was the right for some specially trained Pilots to carry guns behind the cockpit door. Flight Attendants are not allowed to use any weapon like a stun gun. As one congressman said during the hearings…flight attendants “might actually shoot someone”.
Our terrorist training consists of learning how to grab the seat bottom cushion of an empty seat
(if there is an empty) and hold it up in front of us to protect our bodies from harm. Then we are to yell for big guys sitting near by to “grab him” and “hold him down”. Are you all ready for that? Not very re-assuring.
