The less rules …the better.
If you want to get slim and still look good, then pay attention to the following 4 components. Having a flabby skinny body is not sexy. You want lean muscles, and even though people believe muscle weighs more than fat, so they don’t want to lift weights, there are choices you can make that will result in a hollywood-type sexy body.
Easier to follow, easier to stick to, and that is what slim is all about: not having to think about a diet at all. Slim people don’t diet, they just “do”. Let’s look over slim people habits. I call this the PRuBB Slim System!
1) Eat more protein to feed those muscles. Protein is one of the big debates amongst nutritionists. I am a firm believer in grabbing protein over carbs not only to help you lose weight, but also to give those muscles energy so you can burn more fat. It helps you feel full longer. You won’t feel like you are starving yourself, so you will stay on your diet consistantly. Protein is essencial and is really a good short-cut to weight lose without sacrificing a health. Funny how something good for you can actually help you lose weight.
2). Resist Training. Ok, I got your attention. You can get big results by just adding 20 minutes of walking 3 times a week. You do not have to exercise every single day if you are doing the right kind. Getting arobic exercise, like jog/walking your dog, chasing your kids in the yard anything that gets you a little bit our of breath will work.
Then add in “resistance training”. Try adding some weight training every other day. That really does the trick because while you are losing a few pounds of fat, you are building those muscles which will need more energy and that burns more fat. So even though you may look at the scale and think you only lost a few pounds, you will actually be training your body to be more efficient. The whole goal is to get you looking better. You have to have some shape to look sexy and this will work.
3). Burn, baby, burn. Calories that is. By doing the first two steps, you are already on your way to increasing your metabolism. When you increase your metabolism, then you burn more calories. How simple, right? So eat alot and often. By that I mean 6 small meals a day, with most of your meals being focused on protein (besides meat, there are low fat cheeses, nuts, etc) and lots of raw veggies. Listen, raw veggies can taste really good if you let them. Just pay attention to carbs, because some veggies have a high glycejmic count and can actually make you start craving more carbs. If you hate veggies, then try a light steam. Just enough to make them a little crisp and moist, and add lots of different spices.
4). Break for 24 hours. That’s right. Pick a time when you can go 24 hours without eating any food at all, just drink lots of water and green tea. Part of that might be done overnight. It has to be 24 hours, and your first meal cannot be a big beasty feast. It helps to take some herbal suppliments during this time that can help flush out toxins. Getting the inside sludge out will help your body work more efficiently and in turn will burn more fat.
